Everything's gone, everything disappeared
This is worse than anything any one of us feared
People tried to tell us, and while they attempted to warn
They were all looked upon with contemptment and scorn
"You don't know what you're talking about"
"You're exaggerating the situation"
When in reality, they knew all the variables to the equation
And the letters, they spelled out ultimate demise
Just because people were stubborn, they wouldn't open their eyes
So really, none of this should really be a surprise
Because we all were warned, yet we never realized
What we were doing was destroying the fabric of our existence
That soon we'd be defeated, eyes glazed over and listless
Having no life left in them, no soul there at all
We orchestrated this, from the rise to the fall
Watching our world start to boil, then in a second, freeze
What we did would make anyone beg on hands and knees
Tell us to stop, what we're doing is wrong
Nothing in our lives could possibly last long
With the treatment it would receive
None of us could ever conceive
And even if we were told, we could never believe
So I suppose you couldn't blame us for not believing your premonition
That our world could disappear with one snap, like a magician
Everything being destroyed, this was not a demolition
We could do whatever we wanted, we gave ourselves permission
We believed there'd be no consequences, we honestly thought that
And I know how foolish that was, now that I've thought back
And you know what else I've noticed, you know what I've observed
That everything I saw, and everything I heard
Warned me of this cataclysm that I have conjured
But I can't feel bad, for it was well deserved
Because this we that I refer to, is me, my heart, and my pain
And the world I've created is the one in my brain
And the warnings I received about what I didn't do
Was not to wait so long, to say that I loved you
And I know now that in that decision, I was badly mistaken
Because now while you're standing on the altar, I'm trying to find a seat that isn't taken.

Comic Book Hero
We met in the Summer, I was single and free,
So fragile and sweet, he took care of me.
He was so much fun, exciting and new,
It was all so amazing, too good to be true.
Like a comic book hero, he swept me away.
He promised me the world, the night and day.
But his heart was untrue, his words were lies.
No comic book hero, but a villain disguised.
Our romance was deep, like Superman and Miss Lane
Iron Man, Miss Potts, Spidey and Mary Jane.
He impressed me with gifts, and words sublime,
Affirmations of how he would always be mine.
Like a comic book hero, he swept me away.
He promised me the world, the night and day.

I Need to Know Why
It's the fact that I was born on the wrong side of the world, isn't it?
It's the fact that I couldn't see the freckle in your eye like everyone else before I knew the way your words change when you think of me.
It's the fact that I want it to go back to the way it used to be, isn't it?
It's the fact that I knew of you a side you had never known would surface - a side that was only your moment of weakness.
It's the fact that I had a glitch in my brain that allowed me to feel, isn't it?
It's the fact that my stomach is replaced with a burning force of discomfort every time I think of you leaving me.
It's the fact that I don't understand
Literature
Born
In the beginning,
Where do we begin?
In our minds, we progress
In our bodes, we digress
In our heart, to learn
What is right, we discern.
But what of it, forewarned,
In its nascent form
The inability to infer
Just why it differs?
No one can comprehend
Or pay with amends;
The prize of destiny-
A life of bigotry
A hateful word to confess
And they couldn't care less
For the reason it was condemned
For there was no one to defend
That it was just created that way,
But that's not what they say
They knew when it was born,
And adorned it with scorn,
A liar
